Restricting Access Onboard the Yacht Course is now live.
The course aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to correctly control and restrict access onboard a yacht.
The course is comprehensive and covers all the aspects of access restriction. After successfully completing the course, the yacht’s crew should be able to detect activities on and around the ship on both shore-side and sea-side to determine what constitutes a threat to the yacht, crew, and guests.
A properly trained crew is a strong deterrent to prevent attacks and other threats. A continuous and thorough training program should adequately support measures to protect the yacht, guests, and crew. It is important that all crewmembers understand their responsibilities for yacht security and shall have sufficient knowledge and ability to perform their assigned duties and identify any security-related deficiencies that need to be addressed.
Additionally, there is a need to provide security briefings to all crew, prior to berthing or departing, on any specific threats and the need for vigilance and reporting suspicious persons, objects, or activities.
After the course, crewmembers will be in a position to better maintain an acceptable security level of the yacht related to unauthorized access.
